The Haden/Hayden Families of Wayne County, Kentucky

IN GENERAL

Several Haden/Hayden families lived in Wayne County, Kentucky in the early 1800s.  Although we think they are all related, we have not been able to prove it.  These Haden families include the family of my ancestory John Haden (1771-1825), Bartholomew Haden (1777-1845), and James Haden (c1795-c1815).  In addition to the Haden men, were the Haden women - Mary Haden, Martha "Patsy" Haden and Sarah Ann Haden - all of whom married in Wayne County.

The most likely ancestor appears to be Captain Isaiah Haden of Hanover and (we believe) Botetourt County, Virginia.  He may have been a relative of Anthony Haden of Hanover County, Virginia.

Other related families include the family of Anthony Gholson of Botetourt County, Virginia and Wayne County, Kentucky.
