The Federal Transportation Tax Rates

When the Tax on Transportation of Persons was re-enacted in 1997, the segment fee was added. Over time, this tax was scheduled to increase from $1 to $3 per segment, while the percentage tax is scheduled to decrease from 9% to to 7.5%. The Head Tax on international transportation is adjusted for inflation. The Segment Fee is also now adjusted for inflation.
